All our bereavement supporters are volunteers - they are not paid for their work. Every one of them has taken a training course in listening skills, specialising in bereavement, and many of them are fully-qualified counsellors or are in training to be so.
All bereavement volunteers continue with on-going training and regular supervision.
Some undertake specialist training so that they can become supervisors, or so that they can work with children, or work with groups.
Others volunteer to work on our telephone team or assessment team.
All our volunteers work in a one-to-one situation, and there is always a volunteer available at our Social Groups.
