Volunteers

All our counsellors are volunteers - they are not paid for their work. Every one of them has taken a basic training course in counselling skills, specialising in bereavement, and many of them are fully-qualified counsellors or are in training to be so.

All counsellors continue with on-going training and regular supervision.
Some undertake specialist training so that they can become supervisors, or so that they can work with children.

Others volunteer to work on our telephone team or assessment team, both roles only undertaken by trained counsellors.

All our counsellors work in a one-to-one situation, but there is always a counsellor available at our Social Groups.

We also accept diploma students on placements, however before they undertake any counselling they must take our basic training course. If you would like to be put on our waiting list, please contact us with your name, address, telephone number and email address. Before applying, please check that Cruse can meet your course supervision requirements.
